Tea & Talk - International Discussion Group : Race in the U.S.
Guest Speaker: Tennille Haynes (Carl A. Fields Center)
Race 101: What does Race mean? And why is it so important in the United States? In this Tea and Talk we will go through the History of Race in the U.S. in 8 minutes. Followed by a brief discussion on the concept of race and the “Ten Things Everyone Should Know About Race”.
Tea & Talk is an informal weekly discussion and support group for international students and scholars - focused on issues that are common for international students as they adjust to life in the U.S. and the Princeton campus culture. Many international students experience homesickness, loneliness, academic stress, language and communication difficulties. Tea and Talk meets every Wednesday. Feel free to attend as many or as few meetings as you like. Come and receive insight from other international students facing similar challenges, as well as support from facilitators who are experienced with international student issues. A light lunch (and of course tea!) will be served at each meeting. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
