ITIN Application Assistance
701 Carnegie Center, 1st Floor Multi-Purpose Room A
<take the TigerTransit Shuttle Bus - 701 Carnegie Line>)
Application Support Session: All international students who do not have a Social Security Number (SSN) but who are receiving a fellowship or scholarship and who are from a country that is eligible to declare a tax treaty should apply for an ITIN (Individual Tax Identification Number). Only students who have an on-campus job may apply for a SSN - so if you are not eligible to apply for a SSN but are eligible to claim a tax treaty for your fellowship payments, you should apply for an ITIN at this time.
Sponsored by Princeton’s Office of Finance & Treasury Nonresident Tax Compliance & Reporting (NTCR). Representatives will be available to provide assistance by reviewing and accepting your ITIN application - and will then forward it to the Internal Revenue Services (IRS) on your behalf.
NOTE: Students who are not eligible for a tax treaty should apply for an ITIN in Spring 2014 when they file their tax form.
