There is a new variation of SCAM IRS phone calls and/or emails claiming to come from the United States Internal Revenue Service (IRS). The person is told they owe money to the IRS and that them must make prompt payment through a credit card or some other online payment means.

F-1 students who wish to travel and re-enter the U.S. during an OPT Cap-Gap Employment period should be aware of the following:
1. To re-enter the U.S. in F-1 status during OPT Cap-Gap extension, you must have a valid OPT EAD card, along with a valid passport, F-1 visa, signed I-20 and employment letter.
2. If your OPT EAD has expired, you will NOT be able to re-enter the U.S. in F-1 status.
F-1 students who wish to travel and reenter the US while their OPT application is pending should exercise caution when traveling abroad during the 60-day grace period.
