About the Portal
The Iran Social Science Data Portal is an English- and Persian-language online portal that features social science data on Iran, including socioeconomic data, electoral data, information on political parties, and translations of selected laws and regulations. It aims to provide a service to journalists, academics, policymakers, and others interested in analyzing political and socioeconomic developments in contemporary Iran. The project is funded by a grant from the Social Science Research Council.
Due to its political significance, the Iran Data Portal provides particularly detailed documentation of the June 2009 presidential election in Iran. The featured data include electoral results down to the level of the ballot box, the electoral law, translations of statements made by the four presidential candidates, as well as statements by other political and religious leaders, political parties, and governmental agencies that offer a mosaic picture of the events following the contested elections.
If you cannot find data or a document you believe should be included in this portal, please write to our webmaster.
Under the section "Data by Individual Researchers," the Iran Data Portal also features data collected over the years by individual Iran scholars. Here this valuable information can be exchanged and made available to a wider audience. If you are a researcher of Iran and have rare data to share, please email our webmaster.
