E-mail Infrastructure

The Collaboration Services Group (CSG) manages secure, reliable, and efficient enterprise applications to support collaboration in the University community.  These applications include electronic mail, web content management, audio and video streaming, mobile device messaging, and collaborative file sharing. 
 

E-mail and Unified Communications Infrastructure

Spam Protection ProofPoint spam protection systems check the content of all email messages and determine if the messages are potential spam, viruses, phishing scams, or legitimate email. 
SMTP SMTP (Sendmail) systems are responsible for routing email inbound to University email systems and outbound to the Internet.  The systems use secure authentication for sending email.
Princeton Gmail The Princeton Gmail service provides email service for all undergraduate students.
Microsoft Exchange Microsoft Exchange systems are the mailbox servers for graduate students, faculty, staff, and service accounts. This service includes Unified Messaging VoiceMail.
Mobile Devices ActiveSync Devices (iPhones, Droids, and other smartphones), and BlackBerry handhelds, are supported for calendaring and email on the Princeton Gmail and Microsoft Exchange services.
ListServ The ListServ system provides the ability to email groups of people at the University.
Microsoft Lync Lync provides Instant Messaging, video conferencing, desktop sharing and other communication offerings.  This service is under evaluation.
