IT Security

Wondering how well your department is protecting the University's information?   With higher education having experienced hundreds of information security breaches over the past few years, what can you do to prevent hackers from capturing confidential University information through one of your department's automated systems or manual procedures?

To help you evaluate and strengthen information security in your area, OIT's IT Security Team can provide you and your staff with two, one-hour security awareness training sessions, and can work with your team to assess the security of your department's existing and planned systems.  For further information, or to schedule awareness training or a system assessment, please contact the University's IT Security Officer, Anthony Scaturro, at scaturro@princeton.edu.

All members of the University community are responsible for safeguarding the University's information and technology infrastructure, and for complying with applicable legislative and contractual obligations.

To support you in this task, we offer IT security policies, procedural and technical guidance, tools and methods to reduce risk, and procedures for addressing any issues that may arise.

Here, both technical and non-technical readers can expand their understanding of threats to information and systems, and of measures that each of us can take to counter these threats.
