10/14/21008 - Microsoft has released eleven security updates for Windows and Office

Testing of the eleven Microsoft updates was successfully completed on Friday, October 17th. As a result, the updates were automatically distributed to Windows systems that participate in the University's Windows Software Update Service (WSUS) on Saturday, October 18th. If you support any Windows systems that do not participate in WSUS, or any Mac OS X systems that use Office for Mac, please test and apply these updates as soon as possible.

On Tuesday, October 14th, Microsoft released eleven security updates (4 categorized as "critical", 6 as "moderate" and 1 as "important") to its Windows and Office software. Please note that one of the critical Office updates does affect Mac OS X systems running Office for Mac.
OIT will be testing these updates against Windows systems running standard University administrative software and, if testing is successful, we will automatically distribute these updates to Windows systems that participate in the University's Windows Software Update Service (WSUS) on Saturday, October 18th in the early AM hours.
If you support any Windows systems that do not participate in WSUS, or any Mac OS X systems that use Office for Mac, please test and apply these updates as soon as possible. Please click here for information from Microsoft regarding the updates.
