On Tuesday, January 12th, Microsoft released a critical security update to its Windows software.

OIT will be testing the update against Windows systems running standard University administrative software and, if testing is successful, we will automatically distribute this update to Windows systems that participate in the University's Windows Software Update Service (WSUS).  While we normally distribute updates on Saturday in the early AM hours, we may release this update sooner due to the nature of the vulnerability this update addresses.  As our testing progresses, we will update this article with the actual distribution date.

If you support any Windows systems that do not participate in WSUS, please test and apply this updates as soon as possible. Please click here for information from Microsoft regarding the update.
