07/21/2009 - PUaccess, with enhanced login security for PeopleSoft systems, to go live July 27
The University strives to provide the most secure computing environment possible and to protect the confidentiality of sensitive information. As part of this effort, a new bank-like login procedure is being implemented to protect your personal information and Princeton’s confidential data.
The new system, known as PUaccess, will go live on July 27th. Beginning on that date, users who log in to HR Self Service applications, PeopleSoft human resources and student records applications, or SCORE will be able to create an enhanced security profile consisting of a new password, a personal image/phrase, and three security questions and answers. After creating your profile, whenever you log in to these systems, you will see your personal image and phrase, to assure that you have reached a valid Princeton site. The security questions will be used when you access protected systems from different locations and will allow you to reset a forgotten password without calling the OIT Help Desk.
You will have until September 15th to set up your new security profile using PUaccess. After that date, whenever you access HR Self Service applications or other systems protected by PUaccess, you will need to use your new security information. Once you have set up your new security profile, you will use your new password to access your e-mail and other applications.
In preparation for the new system, PeopleSoft human resources and student records applications will be unavailable from Sunday, July 26, at 9 a.m. until Monday, July 27, at 9 a.m.
More information will be provided on the PUaccess page Help link on July 27.
