When an employee has finished updating the leaves for a month, and the administrative supervisor has checked them, that month may then be "locked". Only the admistrative supervisor designated in an employee's Leaves Profile can make a change to a locked month. An employee's Leaves Profile also controls whether or not e-mail is automatically sent to the employee whenever his/her leaves are changed by the administrative supervisor.
In the standard monthly view of the Leaves Calendar, whether that view is accessed by the employee or the administrative supervisor, there is a button below the calendar that says "Update AND LOCK Using Changes Above". Clicking this button will update the database using the leaves (if any) in the calendar above and will set the lock FOR THIS AND ALL PRIOR MONTHS. Alternatively, there is a second button that says "LOCK WITHOUT ANY CHANGES". Clicking this button will set the lock FOR THIS AND ALL PRIOR MONTHS without updating the record of leaves.
When viewing a month that is locked, or a day within a locked
month, a lock
will appear at the top of the page next to the employee's name.
The "Update Using Changes Below" and "Update Using Changes Above"
buttons will not appear on pages displaying locked data, except
when displayed by the administrative supervisor, who has update
privileges on locked data.
