Graduate Students
At the heart of the LGBT graduate student community is the Queer Graduate Caucus (QGC). The QGC organizes socials events like wine and cheese socials, movie nights, trips off-campus, and the monthly "Out on the Town" happy hours. Through the department liaison program, QGC provides graduate students a point-person in academic departments across campus. They also collaborate with the LGBT Center to organize speakers, panels, and other events in academic departments.
Graduate students are also welcome to bring their ideas directly to the LGBT Center for advice on how to make the idea a reality. The LGBT Center also provides advice and support to individuals on a personal, academic, and co-curricular issues.
Q'nnect has been a way that many graduate students stay involved in the larger LGBT campus community. Through this informal networking and mentoring program, graduate students are placed in a small pod with undergraduate students, faculty, and staff members. These groups meet 1-2 times a semester, ideal for many graduate student schedules.
