FFR LGBTQ Fall Lecture: Collective Liberation and LGBTQA Movement, A Lecture by Dean Spade
Dean Spade, Assistant Professor of Law at Columbia University, will deliver a lecture on how “collective liberation” impacts queer and trans movements. Dean uses critical race theory, women of color feminism, and other intellectual traditions to analyze the role of law reform in contemporary queer and trans politics. He is also the founder of the Sylvia Rivera Law Project, a nonprofit law collective that provides free legal services to transgender, intersex, and gender non-conforming people who are low-income and/or people of color.
