Ally Project: Moving Beyond the Mythical Norm & Affirming the Intersections
Integrating racial justice practices is crucial to creating more fully supportive and inclusive environments for the diverse LGBTQ campus communities that exist on college campuses. This interactive workshop will offer faculty, staff and student leaders the opportunity to examine the impact of the “mythical norm” within the LGBTQ community and strategies for creating anti-racist, inclusive communities that recognize and affirm the intersections of identities. This session will be led by Monroe France, Assistant Vice President for Student Diversity and Director of the Center for Multicultural Education and Programs at New York University.
