Rani Mullen

Rani Mullen
Assistant Professor of Politics and Government
The College of William and Mary
Official U.S. Election Observer to Afghanistan

Rani Mullen is an Assistant Professor of Politics and Government at the College of William and Mary, where she has taught since 2005. Previously she worked at the School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) at John Hopkins University (2008-2009), the Liechtenstein Institute on Self-Determination at Princeton University (2002-2005), the Asia Development Bank (1998), the World Bank (1996-1997), and a number of other international development organizations. In the summer of 2009, Mullen served as an official U.S. election observer to Afghanistan.

Mullen’s areas of interest include government, international affairs and development, especially in developing countries. She has published several articles featured in distinguished publications such as Foreign Policy, and worked in conjunction with experts such as William Maley and Atul Kohli. She has contributed to several of LISD’s own publications.
