MAE CHILI THROWDOWN 2012
Enumerating the variations on dishes that might qualify as chili approaches a Herculean task. Should chili have beans or no beans? Ground meat, chopped meat, or no meat? Pasta?!
To celebrate MAEs diversity and foster culinary creativity, we impose no constraints on what constitutes chili, save for two that underpin the very essence of chili:
An official MAE Chili Throwdown entry must be a
1) cooked dish 2) containing chili peppers.
We leave the task of determining chili-ness" to our panel of judges. They will consider aspects of each entry such as aroma, consistency, color, taste, and aftertaste.
To the chef(s) of the best chili, our judges will award the infamous MAE Chili Throwdown Champion Belt Buckle Extraordinaire, pictured above. Each years winners name will be engraved on the back of the buckle!
What if I dont like Chili?
