Professor Edward Seckel
Edward Seckel, 88, Princeton Edward Seckel died Monday, September 28, 2009 at the University Medical Center of Princeton. Born in Chicago, IL he grew up in Riverside IL and Chicago. He earned his graduate and undergraduate degrees from Princeton University. He was Professor of Aeronautical Engineering for twenty-five years at Princeton University, before retiring to Nantucket in 1977 and returning to Princeton in 1999. He authored a textbook, "The stability and control of airplanes and helicopters", and sailed across the Atlantic. He enjoyed gardening, golf, bridge, and photography. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Helen Randall Seckel of Princeton, his son David Seckel and children Lauren and Maxwell Seckel, and Christopher and Jody Shields, grandchildren through his deceased daughter Deborah Ann Kresh. Funeral service and burial will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of The Mather-Hodge Funeral Home, Princeton.
