Ultra-Short Pulse Lasers, Laser-Matter Interaction and Medical Applications

The study of ultra high power pulse lasers has been steadily gathering momentum over the past two decades. The ability to reach electric field levels that are comparable to (or higher than) the electric fields between nuclei and the electrons inside atoms leads to fascinating research and application possibilities. This, combined with the use of ultra short pulses that enable unprecedented time resolution yields various exciting research topics.
