Blue Fade

Mail Services provides a range of services. However, the department is not involved with the delivery of all student mail.

A. Mail Services is Responsible for:

  1. Delivery of all US Post Office mail for all undergraduate students who have their mail addressed to individual mailboxes located in the Frist Campus Center.
  2. Hours of Operation are Monday through Friday 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM and Saturday 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
  3. Delivery of all campus mail addressed to students in their academic departments.
  4. Mail redirected by a University Department to a Frist Mailbox address.
  5. Delivery of outgoing mail to the US Post Office when Mail Service staff pick up stamped mail at designated pickup points.

B. Mail Services is Not Responsible for:

  1. Delivery of mail and packages to Graduate Students residing in the Graduate College.

    Graduate College mail is delivered by the US Post Office directly to the Graduate College. Distribution to individual students is completed consistent with policies/procedures developed by; and staff supervised by the Graduate College's administration.

  2. Deliveries by overnight carriers, i.e. Federal Express, DHL, UPS, etc.

    Overnight carriers are required to deliver directly to the addressee at the recipient's campus residence.

    Overnight deliveries addressed to a Frist mailbox address are handled as a parcel post delivery, i.e. notification of receipt is sent via Email and the package is held for pickup.

  3. US Post Office mail sent registered, insured, or certified.

    The US Post Office has agreed to deliver mail of this type (addressed to Frist mailbox addresses) to Mail Services. Students are advised they have mail that must be signed for by a notice sent to him/her via e-mail. It must be personally picked up, students are required to confirm their identify, and must sign for the pickup as required by the US Postal regulation.

    For Graduate students the notification form (#3849) should also be delivered to their student mailboxes. The US Post Office delivers these notices as part of the standard mail delivery process.

    The addressee must personally pick up this mail from the US Post Office at the Palmer Square Post Office during normal working hours. Their telephone number is 921-9563.
