Power Outage Status

Outage to affect computing services, Feb. 11

The Office of Information Technology will conduct a planned computing power system upgrade from 12:01 a.m. to noon Sunday, Feb. 11.

This upgrade will allow the University to meet its growing computing needs. While the University home page and core website will not be affected, many sub-pages will be temporarily unavailable. Exchange e-mail and student IMAP e-mail will be available throughout the outage period. Faculty and staff IMAP e-mail will be restored by 6 a.m.

Blackboard and the central file server will be available during the outage period. All other central computing services will be unavailable, including administrative and academic systems, Unix systems, and the OIT Help Desk website. Applications provided by departmental servers housed in the data center will also be unavailable. TigerTV service will be down from 1 a.m to 4 a.m.

Restoration of central computing services will begin at 6 a.m. All services will be available by noon.

Any changes to the planned schedule will be announced on the OIT Help Desk support line, 258-HELP (4357).
