Precautionary boil water advisory issued
Posted May 1, 2001; 10:00 a.m.
A precautionary advisory to boil drinking water has been issued for parts of New Jersey, including the Princeton campus.
The advisory was issued after the Elizabethtown Water Co. experienced a break on a major transmission main last night. The break also affects customers of Edison and Liberty water companies. The advisory is expected to be in effect for 24 to 48 hours.
Consumers should boil water to be used for drinking for three to five minutes. No precautions need to be taken for water to be used for bathing.
