Posted November 14, 2001; 12:32 a.m.
The Woodrow Wilson School's Program in Law and Public Affairs will sponsor a discussion 4:30 p.m. today, Nov. 14, on the military order issued Tuesday by President Bush. The order authorizes the use of military courts to try non-citizens suspected of terrorism, and expressly denies such citizens access to civilian courts.
The discussion, titled "Military Justice and Terrorism: Civil Liberties During War Time," will be held in Dodds Auditorium in Robertson Hall.
Speakers at the meeting will include professor Christopher Eisgruber, director of the Program in Law and Public Affairs, and professors David Abraham, Gary Bass and Fionnuala Ni Aolain.
