Muldoon gets trio of honorary degrees

Paul Muldoon, the Howard G.B. Clark '21 University Professor in the Humanities, has received three honorary degrees this summer.
Muldoon, who is also director of the creative writing program at Princeton, was presented with an honorary degree from the Open University in Newcastle, England, on June 16. He also picked up an honorary doctorate in Belfast, Ireland, the week of July 2 from Queen's University, where he earned his B.A. degree. On July 9, he was given an honorary degree by the University of Ulster.
The degrees recognized Muldoon's accomplishments as a poet and translater of poetry.
Muldoon is also professor of poetry at Oxford University, a prestigious title held in the past by Seamus Heaney, W.H. Auden, Robert Graves, and Cecil Day Lewis.
