Statement posted, disseminated on Frist incident

Dr. Janet Neglia, director of clinical services for the University Health Services , has issued a statement regarding an incident Oct. 22, when a powdery substance was found on the 100 level of the Frist Campus Center. The statement is posted here and has been e-mailed to members of the University community.

Although University officials are waiting for the final results of the substance analysis, she said the University has been assured by state health officials that "the risk of an exposure to anthrax in this case is essentially zero." The results are expected in three days and will be made available to the University community.

Members of the community are encouraged to check the home page and the Crisis Response Web page for up-to-date information.
