Visiting lecturer to speak on Transcendental Meditation, Oct. 2

Visiting Lecturer Paul Roochnik will speak on "The Transcendental Meditation Technique: A Scientifically Validated Method to Eliminate Stress and Gain Enlightenment" at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, 307 Frist.
Roochnik, who is teaching Arabic this academic year for the Department of Near Eastern Studies , is also, in his free time, a teacher of the Transcendental Meditation technique. He was trained in 1975 by TM founder Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.
The lecture will explore the peer-reviewed scientific research that has been carried out on the TM technique in the areas of increased intelligence, faster problem solving, improved health and the quelling of violence in war-torn areas. For more information, call 258-1296.
