Doctoral candidate selected for fellowship

Giorgio Biancorosso, a doctoral candidate in the Princeton music department, has been selected for a two-year fellowship at Columbia University.

He is one of four outstanding scholars chosen for Columbia's Society of Fellows in the Humanities . The society brings some of the world's best recent Ph.D. graduates to Columbia to work on their research projects, teach in the university's core curriculum and share their work in public lectures.

Biancorosso is in the process of defending his thesis, which focuses on the relationship between music and narrative in the cinema. At Columbia, he will teach a course in music and conduct research for a book on music in film.
