Author Lapham to discuss '21st Century Challenge,' Dec. 8

Lewis Lapham, editor of Harper's Magazine and author of the new book "Theater of War," will deliver a lecture called "21st Century Challenge: American Empire or Democratic World Governance?" at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8, in Dodds Auditorium, Robertson Hall.

Lapham's talk will be followed by responses from a panel that includes S. Azmat Hassan, a retired diplomat for Pakistan and current faculty associate at the Seton Hall University School of Diplomacy and International Relations; Jeffrey Laurenti, executive director of policy studies for the United Nations Association of the United States of America; Rev. Charles Rawlings, president of the New Jersey Coalition for Peace with Justice in the Middle East; and Barbara Walker, president of the World Federalist Association's advisory board.

The event is sponsored by the New Jersey division and Princeton/Trenton area chapter of the United Nations Association of the United States of America, the Princeton Peace Network , the Coalition for Peace Action, the Coalition for Peace with Justice in the Middle East and the World Federalist Association.
