Sigmund receives order of merit for Chilean scholarship

Paul Sigmund, professor of politics, has received the Bernardo O'Higgins Order of Merit in recognition of his contributions to Chilean scholarship. Sigmund has written three books and 80 articles on Chilean history and politics. He is the first American scholar to receive the award.
The order of merit is named for the leader of the independence movement in Chile and its first president.
