Engineering Council to present talk on amateur radio, Jan. 9

The Engineering Council will present a hands-on session on "Amateur Radio and Emergency Communication" at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, in Friend Center 006.
Distinguished members of the David Sarnoff Radio Club , a general-interest amateur radio club serving the greater Princeton, NJ area, will give an introductory workshop on the basics of amateur radio, how amateur radio operators coordinate communication networks for governmental and emergency officials, the role of the David Sarnoff Radio Club in aiding the American Red Cross following the Sept. 11 attacks, and how to obtain an amateur radio license. Refreshments will be served.
