EQuad News earns APEX awards

The EQuad News , a quarterly magazine published by the School of Engineering and Applied Science , has won two APEX 2002 Awards for Publication Excellence.

One award is for the winter 2001-02 issue. Contributors included Ann Haver-Allen, publications director, writer and designer; Sara Peters, writer; Peter Page, writer; Steven Schultz, writer; Alicia Brzycki, copy editor; and Frank Wojciechowski, photographer.

The other award is for Peters' story, "Engineers Search for Answers," about the collapse of the World Trade Center, which appeared in the fall 2001 issue.

Sponsored by Communications Concepts Inc., the APEX 2002 Awards for Publication Excellence recognize excellence in publications work by professional communicators. The awards are based on excellence in graphic design and editorial content as well as the ability to achieve overall communications excellence.

Earlier this summer, the EQuad News won an award from the Association of Educational Publishers and two awards in the Communicator Awards 2002 print media competition.
