Cotsen Players perform "Sara Crewe," Feb. 23-24

The Cotsen Childrens Library will be transformed into Victorian London when the Cotsen Players present "Sara Crewe, or What Happened at Miss Minchin's" on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 23-24.

The Cotsen Players will give two performances that are free and open to the public on Sunday at 1 and 4 p.m. They will also perform for alumni and University families on Saturday at 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Following the Saturday afternoon performance, playwright Robert N. Sandberg will lead an audience discussion.

Sandberg is a graduate of Princeton University and a lecturer in the Universitys Department of English and Program in Theater and Dance . He based his play on the classic childrens story, "A Little Princess," by Frances Hodgson Burnett.

The setting is a London boarding school for girls run by Miss Minchin (Sarah Combs '04). A wealthy young boarder named Sara Crewe (Felice Kuan 04) is reluctantly delivered into Miss Minchins care, which varies with the rise and fall of Sara's fortune. Adena Spingarn '03 directs this undergraduate production.
