Alumna to discuss 'meanings of lives,' April 4

Wolf, the Duane Peterson Professor of Ethics and chair of the Department of Philosophy at Johns Hopkins University, will deliver a lecture on "The Meanings of Lives" at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, April 4, in Dodds Auditorium, Robertson Hall.

Wolf, who earned her Ph.D. in philosophy from Princeton in 1978, is the author of "Freedom Within Reason," a book on free will and moral responsibility. Her current research focuses on the connections between happiness, morality and meaningfulness in life.

The talk is sponsored by the James Moffett '29 Lectures in Ethics , which are offered by the University Center for Human Values , and will be followed by a reception.
