'Why Do We Hate Us?' is topic for talk, Nov. 18

Edward Rothstein, critic-at-large for The New York Times, will speak on "Why Do We Hate Us? Democratic Culture and Its Discontents" at 4:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18, at the Center for Jewish Life.
He will discuss why, in democratic culture, the tradition of self-criticism thrives to sometimes extreme extents. The talk is sponsored by the Faculty Fellows of the Center for Jewish Life .
