Minter named director of leadership gifts

Michele Minter Michele Minter has been named director of leadership gifts in the Princeton University development office, effective immediately.

The acting director of leadership gifts since October, Minter joined the Princeton staff in 1995 as associate director of that office and was promoted to senior associate director in 2000. She will manage the staff that is responsible for raising funds from Princeton alumni, parents and friends for the University's highest endowment and capital needs. She and her team work closely with campus and alumni volunteers in that effort.

"Michele is known to many on campus for her excellent fund-raising skills and leadership of the team for the New York metro region, one of the most important geographic areas for Princeton fund raising," said Brian McDonald, vice president for development. "She also successfully developed and managed the Women in Leadership initiative that has engaged many Princeton alumnae as volunteers and significant donors."

Prior to joining the Princeton staff, Minter was director of concerts and special events at Westminster Choir College, an on-site evaluator for the National Endowment for the Arts and an agent and publicity representative at Columbia Artists Management.

A magna cum laude Yale graduate, Minter earned an MFA in performing arts management from the City University of New York, where she was the Wilson Lehr Award recipient. She volunteers as a trustee of the Princeton Area Community Foundation and a member of the executive committee for the Fund for Women and Girls, the board of Women in Development of Mercer County and the Princeton committee of the NAACP Legal Defense Fund.
