'Prozac Nation' author to speak, Oct. 8

Elizabeth Wurtzel will speak about her experiences with depression and substance abuse while an undergraduate at Harvard University at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, in 302 Frist Campus Center. A reception and book signing will follow the talk.
Wurtzel is the author of "More, Now, Again: A Memoir of Addiction," in which she chronicles her addiction to Ritalin. Her other books include "Prozac Nation: Young and Depressed in America," "Bitch: In Praise of Difficult Women" and "Radical Sanity: Commonsense Advice for Uncommon Women."
The event is sponsored by the Student Health Advisory Board, the University Health Services , the Undergraduate Student Government Projects Board, the Office of the Vice President of Campus Life, the Office of the Dean of Undergraduate Studies, the Frist Campus Center, the Program in American Studies, the Women's Center and the departments of molecular biology, English, history and anthropology.
