USAID official to discuss post-Sept. 11 development issues, Feb. 12

Andrew Natsios, the administrator of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), will speak on "Terrorism, Poverty and Democracy: Issues in Development Post-9/11" at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, in 16 Robertson Hall.
Natsios will discuss the role of USAID in combating poverty, assisting in the war on terrorism, the reconstruction of Afghanistan and other issues.
Natsios has worked with USAID since 1989, when he joined as director of the Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance. He is the author of numerous articles on foreign policy and humanitarian emergencies, as well as the books "U.S. Foreign Policy and the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse" and the forthcoming "The Great North Korean Famine."
