West to discuss U.S. response to Middle East suffering, Feb. 12

Cornel West will give a talk entitled "What is an appropriate response to the suffering in the Middle East?" at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, in McCosh 10. His talk will address the suffering resulting from the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and how the United States can constructively respond to it.

The Class of 1943 University Professor of Religion, West is well known for his contributions to public debate on issues of race, democracy and social justice. He is the author of a wide range of books, including "Race Matters" and "The American Evasion of Philosophy: A Geneology of Pragmatism."
