Lecture set on Palestinian refugees, Dec. 9

A lecture titled "Between Morality and Pragmatism: The Palestinian Refugees and Peace in the Middle East" will be presented at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9, in 1 Robertson Hall.

Dan Rabinowitz, a visiting associate professor of Near Eastern studies at Princeton, will reflect on the recently signed Geneva accord and the role recognition of the refugee issue plays in achieving a peaceful settlement to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Rabinowitz is a senior lecturer in sociology and anthropology at Tel Aviv University and a regular contributor to the op-ed pages of Israel's Ha'aretz newspaper. His books include "Overlooking Nazareth" (Cambridge, 1997), "Anthropology and the Palestinians" (Institute of Israeli Arab Studies, 1998) and "The Stand-Tall Generation" (with Khawla Abu-Baker, Keter Publishing, 2002).
