Winter holidays celebrated at Frist, Dec. 8-11

A festival and exhibition celebrating winter holidays from various cultures, as well as a holiday charity drive, will be held Monday through Thursday, Dec. 8-11, at the Frist Campus Center.

The annual Winter Holiday Festival will begin at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, in the 100 level of Frist. Free holiday desserts will be available until 4 p.m., and hot food from various cultural holiday celebrations will be served from 9 to 11 p.m. Cafe Vivian will host live entertainment beginning at 8 p.m., including a capella performances by Culturally Yours and the Tigerlilies; an Indian dance by Naacho; and lion dancing, a festive performance that embodies martial arts, dance and music.

In addition, an interfaith holiday exhibition and information table will be located on the 100 level from Dec. 8-11, sponsored by the Religious Life Council. Collection bins for toiletries and non-perishable food items also will be available on the 100 level for donations to area families through the Mercer County Board of Social Services.

The Winter Holiday Festival is sponsored by the Frist Campus Center, Athletes in Action, the Center for Jewish Life, the International Center, the Consortium of International Student Organizations, the Religious Life Council, the Pace Center for Community Service and the Fields Center for Equality and Cultural Understanding.
