Event focuses on Bhopal disaster, Nov. 20

A presentation and film focusing on the 1984 industrial disaster in Bhopal, India, is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, in 1 Robertson Hall.
The tragedy, caused by a deadly gas leak at a Union Carbide factory, is considered one of the worst industrial accidents of modern times. Thousands of people died or were injured. H. Rajan Sharma, an attorney representing the Bhopal survivors in U.S. Federal Court, will talk about the movement for justice and present a documentary titled "Betrayal of Bhopal."
The event is sponsored by Drishti , a student organization that meets to discuss issues related to South Asia.
