Former Zambian president to discuss HIV/AIDS challenges, March 26

Kaunda, former president of Zambia, will present a lecture titled "HIV/AIDS and Africa: Challenges Ahead" at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, in Dodds Auditorium, Robertson Hall.
Kaunda currently is the Balfour African President in Residence at Boston University's African Presidential Archives and Research Center. He led Zambia to independence and served as the first president of the country from 1964 to 1991.
In 1992, he founded the Kenneth Kaunda Peace Foundation, dedicated to the establishment of peace and conflict resolution on the continent. Kaunda is now devoting his life to fighting HIV/AIDS and poverty in Africa.
The lecture is sponsored by the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs and the Program in African Studies .
