Russian studies program celebrates 40th anniversary, May 30

The Program in Russian Studies will celebrate its 40th anniversary with a panel discussion involving past and current faculty members on Friday, May 30.
The event, titled "Russia and Eurasia: High Culture, Politics and Foreign Affairs," will begin at 3:30 p.m. in 145 Peyton Hall. It will be followed at 5:30 p.m. by a reception at 5 Ivy Lane.
Participants will include: Professor Emeritus Robert Tucker, founder and first director of Russian studies; Professor Emeritus Stephen Cohen, longtime director of Russian studies; Professor Emeritus Charles Townsend, longtime chair of Slavic languages and literatures; Caryl Emerson, the Watson Armour III University Professor of Slavic Languages and Literatures; Gilbert Rozman, the Musgrave Professor of Sociology; and Stephen Kotkin, professor of history and current director of Russian studies.
