Seawright honored by Mississippi Institute of Arts and Letters

James Seawright , a professor in the Council of the Humanities and visual arts at Princeton, will be presented with a lifetime achievement award by the Mississippi Institute of Arts and Letters.
Seawright and his wife, dancer Mimi Garrard, will be honored for their contributions to the arts of sculpture and dance at a ceremony on Sunday, June 15, in Seawright's hometown of Jackson, Miss.
Formerly the director of the Program in Visual Arts at Princeton, Seawright is a technological artist whose works are in the permanent collections of museums around the world, including the Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum and the Guggenheim Museum in New York.
