Three Christmas services scheduled at chapel, Dec. 24-28

Three services celebrating Christmas are scheduled for the University Chapel this week.
A Christmas Eve service will begin at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 24. Principal University Organist David Messineo and harpist Elaine Christy will play an extended prelude of Christmas music, including Vivaldi's Concerto, Opus 3, No. 5 and "Le Sommeil L'Enfant Jesus" by Henri Busser. The Rev. Thomas Breidenthal, dean of religious life and of the chapel, will speak. Members of the Princeton High School Choir, conducted by Charles Sundquist, also will perform several works at the service, including "Coventry Carol" and "I Sing of a Maiden."
Holy Communion will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Christmas Day, Thursday, Dec. 25. Leading the service will be the Rev. Deborah Blanks, associate dean of religious life and of the chapel. Joan Lippincott, former principal University organist, will accompany the service.
The holiday celebration will continue with a Festival Service of Lessons and Carols at 11 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 28. Performing will be the Trinity Episcopal Church Choirs under the direction of James Litton.
