Orchestra features concerto competition winners, March 7-8

The Princeton University Orchestra will present performances by winners of its 2003 concerto competition at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, March 7-8, in Richardson Auditorium, Alexander Hall.
Senior Lisa Ramani Jager will perform a clarinet concerto by Artie Shaw. Jager has has appeared as a soloist with leading U.S. orchestras, including the Indianapolis Symphony and the Missouri Symphony.
Senior Sean-Avram Carpenter will perform a violin concerto by Jean Sibelius. Carpenter, who also was a winner of the concerto competition in 2001, has appeared as soloist and concertmaster with numerous New York orchestras, including a performance in Carnegie Hall.
The program also will include a performance by the University Orchestra, conducted by Michael Pratt, of the suite from the opera "Der Rosenkavalier" by Richard Strauss.
Tickets are $5 for students and $15 for general audiences. They are available at the Richardson Auditorium box office, (609) 258-5000.
