Theater students to perform 'Fair Ladies,' Nov. 12-13, 18-20

The Program in Theater and Dance will present "Fair Ladies at a Game of Poem Cards," an adaptation of an 18th-century Japanese puppet play, at the Berlind Theatre. Show times are 8 p.m. on the following dates: Friday and Saturday, Nov. 12-13, and Thursday through Saturday, Nov. 18-20.
The play, a fairy tale of love and honor, will feature a cast of 13 Princeton students. The performance will be based on the adaptation of "Fair Ladies" by Peter Oswald, longtime playwright-in-residence at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre in London. It was originally written by Kabuki playwright Chikamatsu Monzaemon.
The performance will be directed by Erica Schmidt, best known for her New York Shakespeare Festival production of Shakespeare's "As You Like It."
