Inaction and genocide is topic for Dec. 7

A lecture titled "Inaction in the Face of Genocide ... From Rwanda to Darfur" will be presented at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7, in 16 Robertson Hall.
Speaking will be John Prendergast, special adviser to the president of the International Crisis Group, a nonprofit, multinational organization that works in five continents to prevent and resolve conflict.
An African affairs expert, human rights activist and humanitarian, Prendergast has spent nearly two decades focusing on conflict resolution in Africa and shaping U.S. foreign policy toward the region. During his career, he has worked with a number of nongovernmental organizations, United Nations agencies and think tanks throughout Africa and in the United States as well as with the State Department during the Clinton administration.
The lecture is sponsored by the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs .
