Windows users must obtain virus and worm protection
Posted September 3, 2004; 12:08 a.m.
The Office of Information Technology requires that all arriving students using Windows-based computers take steps to protect their computers from viruses and worms before connecting to the University network. Also, students, faculty and staff members must update any Windows-based computers that were on campus but not turned on during the summer.
Students, faculty and staff members can obtain a Scan and Patch 2.0 CD , which contains patches and updated virus protection, at housing check-in, at the OIT Solutions Center in room 113 of the Frist Campus Center and at residential college offices.
The OIT help desk and the Solutions Center are open during orientation weekend; hours are listed online . Residential college consultants are also available to assist students at any time.
For more information, call the help desk at (609) 258-HELP and choose option 1.
