Campus hosts opera theater, Aug. 8-22

The Princeton Summer Theater will host the New Jersey Opera Theater Aug. 8-22, in the Hamilton-Murray Theater on campus.

The festival, which will feature music ranging from 20th-century opera to American musical theater, will offer operas and a concert series. It will bring internationally known opera singers, conductors and directors together with some of the country's most gifted young singers.

Operas to be performed are: Mozart's "Don Giovanni," Aug. 16 and Aug. 20; Britten's "Albert Herring," Aug. 17 and Aug. 21; and Ravels "L'enfant et les Sortileges" and Offenbach's "Ba-Ta-Clan," Aug. 18 and Aug. 22.

The festival's Summer Concert Series, from Aug. 8-19, will offer lighter, more varied performances ranging from German lieder and French chanson to fully staged musical theater.
