Drishti South Asian Discussion Group will show "Men in the Tree," a film by Lalit Vachani, at 7:15 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, in Dodds Auditorium, Robertson Hall. A discussion with the filmmaker will follow the screening.
In 1993, Vachani completed "The Boy in the Branch," a documentary about the indoctrination of young Hindu boys by a branch of the RSS, India's foremost Hindu fundamentalist group. Eight years later, Vachani revisited the subjects of his earlier film to explore the rise of the RSS and its Hindutva ideology in "Men in the Tree."
The event is cosponsored by the Office of Religious Life and the Princeton Institute for International and Regional Studies. It is free and open to the public.
