One-man play on James Baldwin to be performed, Nov. 16

"James Baldwin: Down From the Mountaintop" will be presented at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, in Taplin Auditorium, Fine Hall.
The one-man play was written and will be performed by Calvin Levels. The award-winning actor is a member of The Actors Studio and has worked with many theaters across the country. His performance will be followed by a discussion led by Cornel West , the Class of 1943 University Professor of Religion.
The play traces the life of the American writer who is recognized for his novels on sexual and personal identity, along with his plays and essays on civil rights.
The event is sponsored by the Program in African-American Studies, Princeton Black Men's Awareness Group, Black Student Union, Fields Center for Equality and Cultural Understanding, Fund for Reunion, LGBT Student Services and Queer Graduate Caucus.
